Name: Sam Friedman / Nerve Leak
Hometown: Richmond, VA—804 represent.
Current city of residence: Brooklyn, NY. I stopped representing 804.
Last song you obsessed over: “Daydreaming” by Radiohead. I’m so sad.
Last meal: Reese’s Puffs cereal. It’s lit.
Last concert attended: Panorama Music Festival, so a lot of concerts at once, but mostly just Kendrick Lamar.
Last record store purchase: A Julie London b-side from A1 Record Shop in East Village, my favorite record store in NYC.
Last adult moment: Renewing my license at the DMV. It cracked in half over a year ago, as in the bottom half was completely severed. Was time.
Last childish moment: Buying fruity pebbles… because Kendrick Lamar loves sugary cereal, so I sort of have to too, if I’m going to be his biggest fan.
Last fear: the fear is very present, the fear of putting out new music. I’m lucky that’s my fear today.
Last promise you made yourself: I’m not sure if it’s the last promise, but just to trust, know, and accept that music will work out, and that it has to and will in ways that aren’t always certain and clear.
