London’s Madison Willing shares somber piano and synth duet “Rainwater” (first light)

first light is a burgeoning label and arts community based in Manchester, U.K. With atmospheric electronic music serving as the group’s backbone, photography and other visual art is also included under the first light umbrella.  The latest addition to the label’s roster is London’s Madison Willing, a producer and DJ that’s equally adept with both techno and neo-classical styles.

After sharing a guest mix for first light last month, Willing has now released her first single for the label, “Rainwater.”  There’s no trace of her dance music influences here, with a cinematic, emotional mood ruling instead. The gloomy piano-led track is accompanied by a beautiful photo by Emma Harckham, depicting the final days in the life of a glacier, a final splash of blue in a landscape of jagged black and grey.
