David Firth releases debut Locust Toybox LP, ‘Drownscapes,’ through Brainfeeder

Despite all that he’s been up to in the past decade, David Firth is still best known as the creator of Salad Fingers, the Boards of Canada-soundtracked Youtube series about a creepy creature’s quest for the perfect rusty spoon and other general weirdness.  Since then Firth has done CreamRoyal, Umbilical World, and helped out on Flying Lotus’ gross-out film debut, Kuso.

Considering how much of his own music Firth employs in his films, it’s no surprise that yesterday he finally released an album, Drownscapes, through FlyLo’s Brainfeeder label.  Check out “Saptiro” below, a more gentle, comforting tune than you might expect.
